Behavior Technician, RBT

Disability & Autism Services of Indiana (DASI) is seeking talented Behavior Technicians to implement programs for children on the Autism spectrum using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. An outreach Behavior Technician is a unique and demanding position that requires a diverse set of skills to really thrive in the role, and our goal is to attract and retain the best people as we recognize this is essential to our growth and success. The responsibilities of a Behavior Technician include providing behavioral intervention and direct instruction in a one to one teaching format. Technicians utilize various scientifically valid teaching techniques including Verbal Behavior, Precision Teaching, Video Modeling, Natural Environment Teaching and Functional Communication. Candidates should be interested in working within a home, clinic and/or community-based model. Training in Applied Behavior Analysis will be provided. All qualified applicants will be kept on file for six months.


Locations:

  • Central and Southeastern Indiana
  • The Tri-state Cincinnati area

Responsibilities:

  • Implement Individual Treatment Plans and Behavior Intervention Plans
  • Conduct all aspects of systematic instructional sequences while maintaining clinical data
  • Excellent organizational skills to maintain data collection and daily record keeping
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain strong communication with clinical team, office management and client’s family
  • Reliable attendance and excellent time management
  • Use of personal auto for business use, with the agreement to carry a minimum 100/300/100 liability protection uninsured/under-insured motorists coverage

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must love working with children (experience preferred), be self-motivated, creative, enthusiastic, compassionate and have a caring demeanor
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Experience and knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis preferred
  • Applicants must hold a High School Diploma and be pursuing (a minimum of) a Bachelor's Degree in a related field, such as Education or Psychology
  • Have a safe driving record for the previous five years
  • Consent to a criminal background check
  • Additional screening may be required

DASI is an outreach therapy provider; providing therapy services in home, school and clinic settings. Clinic settings are offered at our Greensburg Center for Autism and Fishers Learning Center locations.

An outreach Occupational Therapist is a unique and demanding position that requires a diverse set of skills to really thrive in the role, and our goal is to attract and retain the best people as we recognize this is essential to our growth and success. You will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with a team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Board Certified assistant Behavior Analysts and Registered Behavior Technicians. The responsibilities of an Occupational Therapist within our organization include working with children on the Autism spectrum to develop skills for handwriting, fine motor skills and daily living skills. Helping children with sensory processing disorders so that they can perform and manage day-to-day activities like dressing and bathing easily. However, the most essential role is to assess and target the child’s sensory processing disorders. This is beneficial to remove barriers to learning and help the students become calmer and more focused. Candidates should be interested in working within a home and clinic-based model. Pediatric experience is required and applicants must love working with children. Candidates must be creative and willing to utilize behavior analytic principals and procedures in order to achieve goals. Training in Applied Behavior Analysis will be provided. All qualified applicants will be kept on file for six months.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate rehabilitation of clients with emotional, physical or mental disabilities
  • Monitor and assess patient rehabilitative programs
  • Convey treatment results and client progress to relevant parties
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain strong communication
  • Provide training and continued support to ABA team as requested
  • Excellent organizational skills to maintain daily record keeping and client records
  • Maintain a clean and healthy environment
  • Use of personal auto for travel to therapy settings, with the agreement to carry a minimum 100/300/100 liability protection uninsured/under-insured motorists coverage

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university
  • Occupational Therapist License from the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency with experience in occupational therapy or related field
  • Must love working with children, be self-motivated, creative, enthusiastic, compassionate and have a caring demeanor
  • Passion to help and motivate those with special needs
  • Possess excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Unwavering ethics and confidentiality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort in a virtual work place and flexible work schedules
